Description
This is an extremely rare and collectible Brooch pin from The Prince’s Trust charity program done circa 1995/96. Many celebrities, artists, musicians, politicians, and people of influence agreed to create a one-of-a- kind art piece ‘Mask’ that would then be donated for auction to raise funds for the Prince’s Trust charity. Paloma Picasso (French fashion designer and businesswoman, best known for her jewelry designs for Tiffany & Co, and her signature perfumes. She is the daughter of artist Pablo Picasso) created this beautiful and very artistic design that is among the favorites of the entire Masks collection. In fact, it is featured on the cover of the book and event program as you can see in the background of my photos. The original artwork Mask was the size of a mask you would wear on your face and was auctioned for charity. The Prince’s Trust also worked with vendors like Limoges to make porcelain boxes from the Mask designs, and with The London Badge and Button Company to create the wearable/collectible art stick pins, brooches, and cufflinks. The certificate of authenticity that comes with this Brooch states… “ this document certifies this Mask Oval Brooch as a fine ceramic reproduction of the original Mask by Paloma Picasso and as part of the collection of Mask Oval Brooches by celebrities and artists. Limited edition number: 106.” The Brooch is in untouched pristine condition and comes with a certificate of authenticity. It is perfect for adding to your collection or displaying on clothing or accessories. The Brooch measures approximately 2 inches in total height, and at the widest point is about 3/4 of an inch give or take. You can see the photos with a tape measure for more information. The last photo in the series of photos is from the book that I have that was part of the introduction of the Masks program and showcases images of the original art pieces made by the celebrity/artist. These are part of a larger collection that I have of The Mask stick pins, brooches and cufflinks from this program… Including an incredible stickpin by Nick Mason featuring “Dark Side of the Moon” imagery, the much sought after Brooch of the Tony Blair former Prime Minister, the Bette Midler stick pin, the brooch from Placido Domingo, very rare, The stick stick pan from the late actor Bob Hoskins may he rest in peace and an incredible set of cufflinks from the late Music Legend, much beloved George Michael. You can look at my other listings to see these amazing rare collectibles. I am parting with this collection, and I hope that whomever buys one or more of these wheel cherish and enjoy them as I have. None of the items I have wherever worn or used. However, I did acquire them from another collector in England, and although I don’t think any of them were ever used by that individual, they are in as-is condition. The condition is excellent on all of them, in fact, some pieces like the this Paloma Picasso have never been removed from the box until today when I took the detailed photographs.
